| I pledge to promote smart and responsible growth and city-wide redevelopment that is designed to increase the quality of life for all residents |
- Every project needs to be evaluated by its impact on residents,
roads, the environment, and water conservation.
- We need to maintain the strength of our neighborhoods by
ensuring that they are not overtaken by uncontrolled growth and
over-development.
- Any changes to the city’s future land use plan should not be
granted automatically, but must be made only if they are in the
best interests of the city and residents.
- I will thoroughly investigate each project to make sure the city has
properly analyzed its impact on the quality of life for all residents.
- I will fight against any project that will harm the residential
neighborhoods surrounding it. I will make sure that Oakland Park
is not the dumping ground for projects rejected by other cities.
- The focus of our growth should be on redeveloping those areas
that are in need of help, and not developing over our existing
green spaces, parks, and golf courses.
- I have fought against tall, dense buildings that will negatively
impact the traffic in our neighborhoods and on our city streets.
- The focus of development should be on green and
environmentally-friendly buildings.
- I have supported smart and responsible growth as a member of
the city’s Planning and Zoning Board.
