environment for Franke and successfully
helped prepare him for college. He is
currently attending college in St.

Program. He also teaches employment discrimination law, labor law, and current
constitutional issues in the law. Anthony came to Nova Southeastern to realize a life-
long dream of living in Florida. Based on his experience and expertise in teaching
legal advocacy and writing, Anthony was quickly promoted to the director of the
lawyering skills department in 2005. Within only two years under his direction, the
program was recently recognized nationally for being one of the top legal research &
writing programs in the country as decided by other legal writing professionals.
Anthony’s career is the culmination of his love of teaching; he has been fortunate
enough to teach at every level, from kindergarten through post-graduate.
member of the Oakland Park Kiwanis Club, the North Andrews Neighborhood
Association, Oakland Park Main Street, the Oakland Park Homeowners Coalition,
the Dolphin Democratic Club, the Florida GLBT Democratic Caucus, and the
Broward Democratic Party.  He is also the vice president of Fight OUT Loud, a
national non-profit organization dedicated to helping LGBT individuals who face
discrimination and hate.

coach.  While living in Charlotte, he also taught mathematics to adults at Central
Piedmont Community College.

After teaching for several years, Anthony began studying law at the Tulane
University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He received his J.D. degree in
1995, graduating in the top 2% of his class.  Anthony was a Managing Editor of the
Tulane Law Review, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was selected to be a
member of the Order of Coif for his excellence in law school.

Upon graduation, Anthony began working for Mayer, Brown & Platt, one of the
largest and most respected law firms in the nation.  He practiced in the commercial
litigation department dealing with business and employment issues.  He
subsequently worked at Gardere & Wynne where he specialized in labor and
employment law.
Having successfully practiced law for a few
years, Anthony decided to return to his love
for teaching by becoming a law professor.  He
began his law teaching career as a Freedman
Teaching Fellow at Temple Law School in
Philadelphia, where he also received his
L.L.M degree.  At Temple Law School,
Anthony quickly became well-known nationally
for his work in teaching legal advocacy and
writing.  He also taught commercial and
corporate law.

Anthony has been a law professor for almost
ten years, teaching at the Arizona State
University School of Law, Temple Law School,
and the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova
Southeastern University.
Anthony speaking in front of the city
commission
made a series of offensive comments that divided the entire region.  In an effort
to control the damage that the mayor’s comments were causing to the region,
Anthony helped organize a unity rally that drew hundreds of other activists,
government officials, and religious leaders.  Anthony also worked hard to
successfully push the Broward County Commission to remove Naugle from its
Tourism Development Council and help restore the region's reputation as one
committed to diversity and inclusiveness.

Anthony learned through this experience how our local officials can have a
substantial and immediate impact on our community.  Instead of making
statements and actions that polarize our community, Anthony has been trying to
get the government to focus on the important issues that affect each of us every
day—affordable housing, rising taxes  and insurance costs, increases in crime,
and changes to the quality of life for all residents.  Anthony also realized the
importance of being active in local government.
