All of the hard work, long hours, and dedication has paid off.  The results are in and I
have been elected the next Commissioner in Oakland Park, Seat 4
.

I am so pleased and humbled that the voters of Oakland Park have decided to trust me
to be their next Commissioner.  By receiving the most votes among all of the candidates
in Oakland Park,
I will become Vice Mayor in 2010 and Mayor in 2011.  The victory
speaks to the
change that residents in Oakland Park are looking for, and I promise to
work my hardest to be your voice on the commission.

This election was about all of you.  I want to thank everyone who supported and voted
for me.  I was so fortunate to have so many people give me their time, money, and
energy, and  I could not have done this without your help.  Thank you.

I am so proud of how we ran our campaign.  We never shied away from the issues while
remaining true to our principles.  We ran a clean, issue and information driven
campaign that let voters know what we hoped to accomplish for our city.  Throughout it
all, I met so many residents, studied and discussed the issues, and worked hard to
move Oakland Park forward.  I will continue to do the same as your commissioner and
mayor.

Now comes the tough part.  Beginning today, we all need to come together and work on
the tough issues facing us.  I look forward to working with Commissioner Boisvenue and
Commissioner-Elect Sallee, as well as current Vice Mayor Arnst and Commissioner
Murphy, on making sure that our commission listens and works for everyone in our
great city.
When we all work together, nothing will stop us.

Today can be the start of a new day in Oakland Park and I am honored you have
chosen me to help lead.

Please let me know how I can serve you.  Call or email me anytime.
